On Wednesday, April 29, 2026 (national holiday), the "Japan's Largest Generative AI Meetup of Spring 2026," hosted by our company, was held at GMO Internet Group's second headquarters, "GMO Yours Fukuras."

Despite being held on a public holiday on the first day of Golden Week, the event attracted over 300 people, ranging from those at the forefront of the AI industry to those who want to learn about AI, and the venue was filled with enthusiasm and excitement from start to finish.

■A special talk session featuring five leading figures in the AI industry

In the main event, a talk session, five leading figures in the AI field took the stage. Starting with "A word on what you think about the current AI industry," they shared their honest opinions on each topic, and the participants listened intently, diligently taking notes.

■Through two interaction sessions, the circle of AI enthusiasts expands rapidly.

Two networking sessions (totaling 70 minutes) were held between sessions, allowing for lively information exchange among participants and with the speakers. Serious discussions about AI, topics not usually discussed, took place all over the venue with drinks in hand, and new collaborations and connections were born one after another—it was truly a day that shaped the future of the AI industry.

■A surprise during the lecture! The entire venue celebrated the speaker's birthday, creating a warm sense of unity.

As the lecture reached its peak, it was announced as a surprise that it was the birthday of the speaker, usutaku (Takumi Usui). The venue was instantly filled with a celebratory mood.

Usutaku looked surprised and delighted by the sudden surprise gift, and warm congratulations poured in from the audience. Furthermore, since April is also the birth month of our company's representative, Chaen, there was a moment when Chaen received a "reverse surprise" gift.

The event reached a new level of excitement amidst thunderous applause. The warm interactions that transcended the boundaries between speakers and participants left the entire venue immersed in a happy afterglow.

■After the event

As the evolution of generative AI accelerates and a vast amount of technology, services, and knowledge are generated daily, we believe that simply distributing information and technology is insufficient to ensure that the ability to effectively utilize them spreads throughout society. Only when people meet, discuss, and exchange knowledge through AI can truly valuable application examples and the next wave of innovation be born.

This "Generative AI Meetup" fostered lively interaction between speakers and participants, creating new learning opportunities. We will continue to focus on creating opportunities for people to connect with each other through AI.
