Company Introduction
Southern Link Co., Ltd. is an insurance agency headquartered in Kagoshima Prefecture that handles 11 insurance products, including life insurance. With the company's mission of "providing value beyond insurance," the company is not limited to proposing insurance, but is also committed to contributing to the local community.
As part of this, we have established a "Regional Revitalization Office" within the company and are actively working to solve local issues and contribute to society. For example, we have developed projects rooted in the community, such as the implementation of the "Kids Money School" to provide financial education to local children, and have a corporate culture that sets us apart from ordinary insurance agencies.
A sense of challenge
Before introducing generative AI, it took a huge amount of time to plan, create reports, and analyze documents on insurance products and the market. In particular, "thinking tasks" tended to be put off, which created problems in the momentum of the business.
In addition, due to the nature of being in a rural area, there was also resistance to the introduction of new technology and low awareness, and there was a lack of knowledge and skills about AI within the company, making it difficult to take the first step toward transformation.
Benefits of using generative AI
After the introduction of generative AI, work efficiency improved and awareness within the company changed at the same time. In particular, in planning, the AI helped organize concepts, which significantly improved the speed of idea generation and revitalized planning work that had been put off.
AI is also used in the analysis and reporting of insurance documents and market data, making the creation of reports from a third-party perspective more efficient, while shortening work hours and improving quality.
These labor-saving measures have allowed the company to allocate two business days of staff per month to community activities such as the "Kids Money School," making it possible to balance its main business with contributing to the community. Furthermore, training has reduced the resistance of older employees to AI, and its use is spreading.
Future outlook
In the future, the company plans to support veteran employees over 60 years old so that they can master AI, aiming to create a system that is not dependent on hiring young employees. In addition, the company plans to use generative AI tools to in-house produce videos introducing the company and explaining insurance products, thereby reducing costs and increasing speed.
Furthermore, we are focusing on developing human resources who can not only use AI but also teach it, and we aim to expand the scope of AI use by sharing our know-how with local communities and other companies.
